Cheers Carl -downloading as I type
<font size="4" face="Arial">....and here is "The Veins - Hollywoodland" new David Gentner (Uncle Sam singer) band. Great cd. Sure The Veins are a different band from Uncle Sam (hey, years passed by!) but i still can hear a lot of connections between his new and his old band...and most of all his voice is still unique and hypnotic as it used to be.Quote:

<font size="4" face="Arial">Glamfly, odd that it timed out so quick. I'll repost it again tonight at smaller bit rate so the file isn't so huge.Quote:

It may also have reached it's "maximum download" amount. I believe that is 50 DL's, so you have a hit record on your hands there.
<font size="4" face="Arial">so this D-Gen e.p was recorded before the last album?Quote:

"Released October, 1998
This 3-track 7-incher was released by the band independent of Columbia Records on their own label (DGI). It contains three tracks that were recorded for, but not included on, "Through the Darkness". The first pressing consisted of 1,000 copies on pink, marbled vinyl in a picture sleve. A second pressing was mentioned at one time but was never done."
i've also included thier inclusion from the complilation "Old Skars and Upstarts" called "Dying For a Living", which does not appear on any other releases. check out Sweet Talker from the Prohibition EP, fantastic song.
2. Hollywood Brats
http://s39.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=0...B0TERK7PFEUDOI
"Formed in 1972 the Hollywood Brats were Punk long before the term was invented. Dressed in make-up and women's blouses they sought to shock, whilst making the music they wanted to make."
fans of The New York Dolls should check this out. good review over at sleazegrinder

this reminds of the rumors I heard from NYC in the early 90's, about an east coast Glamour Punks called D-Generation, unfortunatley by the time the first CD rolled around they had significantly changed their style.
anyways sounds great , thanks
could it be old demos?
<font size="4" face="Arial">nah, this was recorded for Through The Darkness but they were not happy with Columbia dragging their feet so they put this out on their own to promote on tour. i have some old demos pre 1st album laying around somewhere on a tape. i'll have to get them transferred to mp3.Quote:

i don't think they changed their style as much as the production on their first cd is just down right bad. it didn't capture what D Gen were all about. in my opinion i think D Gen were much better then the Glamour Punks but in all honesty, i never quite got the hype over the Glamour Punks. to me they were just another middle of the road band. not bad but nothing great. i would probably appreciate them more if i saw them live, like D Gen, who tore the place up whenever they hit the stage. glad you like the EP, i'll try to get those demos uploaded sometime.
guess who didnt have work today

this is the audio of Bon Jovi's performance on Crossroads with Sugarland.
"New Jersey-based rockers Bon Jovi and certified platinum country trio Sugarland unite for an episode of the critically acclaimed series CMT Crossroads. Before an invitation-only audience at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, Bon Jovi and Sugarland performed songs from both groups, including the Bon Jovi hits "Livin' on a Prayer," "Wanted Dead or Alive" and "You Give Love a Bad Name," as well as Sugarland's hit, "Baby Girl." This episode also includes the premiere live performance of "Who Says You Can't Go Home?" -- a collaboration from Bon Jovi's album, Have a Nice Day, featuring Sugarland lead singer, Jennifer Nettles."
